MVP under $5,000: what each budget buys in 2026
You can get an MVP built for under $5,000. Fixed-price offers published online run from €299 to $4,990, with stated timelines from 72 hours to 8 weeks. What changes from one offer to the next is the technology (code or no-code), what you receive, what you keep paying every month, and when you pay.
Fixed-price MVP offers at $5,000 or less
Five providers publish a fixed MVP price of $5,000 (or €5,000) or less on their website. The list is not exhaustive and runs from cheapest to most expensive:
| Provider | Offer | Listed price | Stated timeline | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MonMVP (Bordeaux, France) | Web app MVP, paid only if you like it | €299 including VAT | Video within 72 hours, live 72 hours after payment | Built before you pay anything. Web app, no app store publishing. Full source code handed over |
| Incloud (France) | MVP Express | From €3,000 excluding VAT | 8 weeks | Simple iOS and Android app built from a template, paid in three instalments |
| Tensoria Studio (France) | AI MVP | From €4,000 | About 3 weeks | One AI use case plus two business features. Optional maintenance at €199 a month afterwards |
| MVPExpert (Norway) | 14-day MVP | $4,990 fixed | 14 days | Web or mobile app, 30 days of post-launch support. If delivery is late, the work continues for free until done |
| EID Lab (Lyon, France) | MVP sprint | €5,000 fixed | 2 weeks | 30 days of fixes, code handed over. Optional hosting and maintenance at €50 a month |
Excluding VAT or not: the 20% trap
Many European studios list prices excluding VAT. A French studio adds 20% VAT for a private individual, and for a company that cannot recover it: €3,000 excluding VAT becomes €3,600. Outside the EU the rules differ depending on where you and your company are based, so ask which figure you will pay before you sign.
What each budget buys
Under $500
Two options. Build it yourself with an AI tool such as Lovable (about $25 a month on the Pro plan) or a no-code tool such as Bubble. It is the lowest budget, but all the work is yours, and many projects stall before launch, usually on user login or data security. Or use a studio that works at a fixed price with AI: at MonMVP, €299 for a live web app with its source code, paid only if you like the MVP.
$500 to $2,000
A few days of a freelancer. At $75 to $150 an hour in the United States, or €400 to €700 a day in Europe, $2,000 buys two to five days. Enough for a landing page with a waitlist or a clickable prototype, rarely an app with user accounts and a database.
$2,000 to $5,000
This is fixed-price studio territory, the offers in the table above. For this money you usually get an app with sign-up and login, three to six features, a database and a live deployment, in two to eight weeks. The differences are in the technology (code you own, or a no-code tool with its subscription), the timeline, and what happens after delivery.
Above $5,000
Development agencies start around $50,000 in the United States and €8,000 in Europe for a web MVP. A native mobile app published on the stores sits higher still. The full breakdown by type of provider is in our guide to how much an MVP costs.
What pushes a project over $5,000
Some building blocks almost always break this budget:
- a native mobile app published on the App Store and Google Play (two platforms, plus store review on every update);
- payments split between third parties, as on a marketplace (commissions, seller accounts, disputes);
- several types of users with different permissions, such as customer, provider and admin;
- connections to existing software: ERP, CRM, accounting;
- a full back office to manage content.
For a first test, most of them can wait. An MVP exists to answer one question: do people want what you are offering? A mobile idea can be tested as a web app installed on the phone's home screen, a marketplace with a single type of user at first.
How an MVP can cost €299
It is a fair question. The code is written with the help of AI, which brings the build of a simple product down to a few hours. Scoping, code review, security and deployment are done by a person. The scope is tight: one web app, one main path through it, no connection to business software. Above all, the MVP is built before you pay: you watch it working on video, then you decide. If you do not like it, you pay nothing. If your project does not fit, we tell you within 24 hours, before building anything.
It is not the right offer if you need an app published on the stores in its first version, or a tool wired into your management software. In those two cases, the studios in the table or an agency are a better fit.
We build your MVP. You only pay if you like it.
Describe your idea: within 72 hours you get a video of your app working. If you like it, you pay €299 and it goes live with its source code. If not, you pay nothing. How it works.
Get my MVP on video (free)Questions to ask before you sign, whatever the price
- Does the price include VAT or sales tax? On a tight budget, 20% often decides the choice.
- What will you pay every month after delivery? Hosting, the no-code subscription, maintenance.
- Who owns the code, or the no-code app? It should be in your name, so you can change provider.
- What happens if the deadline slips? A refund, free work until delivery, or nothing in writing.
- Do you pay before seeing anything that works? Most offers ask for a deposit at the start and the balance on delivery.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get an MVP for under $1,000?
Yes, in two ways: build it yourself with an AI or no-code tool for a few dozen dollars a month, doing all the work yourself, or use a studio that works at a fixed price with AI. MonMVP builds the MVP for €299, paid only after you have seen it on video and only if you like it.
What does $5,000 buy?
Usually an app with sign-up and login, three to six features, a database and a live deployment, delivered in two to eight weeks by a fixed-price studio. A native app on the stores, payments split between third parties or connections to business software almost always push a project past that budget.
No-code or code for a low-budget MVP?
No-code (Bubble, FlutterFlow) is fast but ties you to a subscription and to the tool. Code (React, Next.js, Supabase) belongs to you and any developer can pick it up. At the same price, ask what you own at the end and what you pay every month.
Do I have to pay a deposit to get an MVP built?
With most providers, yes: a first payment when the work starts. MonMVP works the other way round: the MVP is built and shown to you on video before any payment, and you only pay if you like it.
Is a €299 MVP serious?
The price holds because the scope is tight and AI writes a large share of the code, which a person reviews, secures and deploys. Nothing has to be taken on trust: you see the MVP working on video before paying, and you get the full source code if you say yes. Ten example MVPs are online, fully clickable.
